Role: Staff Radiation Therapist in the Radiation Oncology Department, responsible for delivering ionizing radiation treatments following physician prescriptions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate radiation equipment ensuring safety and precision in treatment delivery.
- Perform patient assessments, procedures, and provide specialty care tailored to patient age groups.
- Document all procedures accurately in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
- Participate in Quality Control and adhere to safety protocols, including radiation safety measures.
- Simulate new patients and manage patient setup and scheduling efficiently.
- Educate patients and families about treatment side effects and safety precautions.
- Recognize limitations, seek assistance when needed, and report adverse reactions promptly.
- Assist in training students and participate in on-call rotations.
- Follow organizational policies, standards, and code of conduct.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Associates degree or equivalent from an accredited program.
- Minimum of 2 years experience in Radiation Therapy (preferred).
- Licenses and certifications: ARRT-T (Radiation Therapy), BLS (Basic Life Support).
- Ability to perform treatment simulations, patient care, and operate radiation equipment safely.
