Role Overview: Implements physical therapy treatment programs under supervision across diverse patient populations, from neonatal to geriatric. Responsible for executing therapy plans, assisting with patient assessments, and documenting progress.
Key Responsibilities:
- Self-assess, seek ongoing education, and share knowledge with team members.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members.
- Apply logical reasoning to identify, analyze, and resolve clinical issues.
- Support student training by completing assessments and providing mentorship.
- Foster collaborative relationships, promote positive team dynamics, and embrace change.
- Assist with data collection, monitor patient safety during exercises, and collaborate with supervisors.
- Develop and modify exercise and treatment plans within patient capabilities, ensuring proper monitoring.
- Prepare documentation, assist with discharge planning, and promote evidence-based practices.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Associate degree from a CAPTE-accredited program.
- Preferred: One year of experience as a PT aide or PTA.
- Licensure as a PTA with active status from the Texas ECPTOTE.
- Current BLS certification within 90 days of employment.
