Role Overview: The Physical Therapist provides medically prescribed therapy to relieve pain, restore function, and prevent disability after disease or injury.
Key Responsibilities: Conducts evaluations, develops personalized therapy programs using exercises, manual techniques, heat, water, light, and electrical modalities; performs diagnostic tests on muscles, nerves, and joints; guides patients in active/passive exercises, gait, and functional training; utilizes equipment like ultrasound and diathermy; instructs on use of mobility aids and postural control; monitors patient progress and documents outcomes; may supervise staff and train students and staff in therapy techniques.
Qualifications & Skills: Requires a Doctorate of Physical Therapy (post-2015), valid licensure, Basic Life Support (BLS), and certifications in pelvic health (preferred). Experience expectations include a minimum of years in relevant settings, with required and preferred experience types.
Additional Requirements: Must obtain certain certifications within 90 days, including licensure, BLS, and pelvic health certification.
Qualifications: High school diploma required; advanced degrees preferred. Skills include assessment, manual therapy, patient education, equipment operation, and teamwork.
