Role: The RN Clinical Charge Nurse leads and supervises unit activities to ensure safe, high-quality patient care on an assigned shift. They provide direct patient care when needed, coordinate staffing, manage patient flow, and support clinical standards based on evidence-based practice and professional nursing models.
Responsibilities: Oversee daily operations, assign patients, monitor resource utilization, and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams. Conduct rounds, evaluate care quality, facilitate communication, and promote a patient-centered approach. Lead performance improvement initiatives, ensure compliance with policies, and serve as a role model and mentor for staff development.
Qualifications and Skills: Must be a licensed RN with a minimum of 1 year of nursing experience (2 years preferred) and preferably experience as relief charge. Must hold BLS certification; ACLS and instructor certifications are preferred. Demonstrates clinical expertise, effective teamwork, communication, leadership, and knowledge of healthcare standards and policies. Ability to manage resources, foster collaboration, and support evidence-based practices is essential.
