Role Overview:
This position involves leading and managing the daily operations of a healthcare shift, ensuring safe and effective patient care through independent judgment. The role includes serving as a clinical resource for staff, physicians, patients, and families by providing direct patient care, medication administration, and equipment management. The incumbent supports onboarding, staff evaluation, and promotes quality improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead shift activities, analyze patient needs, assign tasks, and facilitate interdisciplinary communication.
- Supervise staff performance, assist in staff evaluations, and ensure appropriate workload distribution.
- Maintain equipment functionality, monitor inventory, and support staff training and orientation.
- Provide clinical assistance and promote professional development through ongoing education and competency assessments.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, monitor patient care quality, and ensure adherence to safety and customer service standards.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Respiratory Therapy (Bachelor’s preferred).
- Required certifications include BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP, and NBRC-RRT or RCP credential.
- Minimum of two years of clinical experience in critical care areas such as ICU, CVICU, BURN, NICU, or Emergency Departments.
- Strong leadership, communication, and clinical skills, with the ability to support staff and promote best practices.
Additional Duties: Support patient safety, quality outcomes, and process improvements, while ensuring compliance with organizational policies and standards.
